Mr. Richardson is a CEO at Richardson Oliver Insights where he supports customers in developing data-driven strategies based on patent market data and insights. He is also a Partner at ROL Group, where he counsels clients on a variety of patent and business matters including patent buying, selling, licensing, valuation, prosecution, and operations.
Mr. Richardson has licensing and marketing patent portfolio experiences resulting in more than $600M of patent license bookings. Mr. Richardson has also served as an expert witness on patent monetization and licensing practices in cases in England and the United States.
Prior to founding the Richardson Oliver Insights and ROL Group, Mr. Richardson was the General Manager of ThinkFire Services USA, Ltd’s Silicon Valley office. Mr. Richardson has worked in various senior management roles with such growth businesses as Sezmi, Constellation Capital, Rambus, Numerical Technologies, and he was also an attorney in private practice at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
Mr. Richardson is a member of the California Bar and a United States Patent and Trademark Office registered patent attorney. He holds five US patents.
He holds a JD and a BSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada.

Mr. Oliver is COO at Richardson Oliver Insights with many years of experience of providing customers with data-driven insights to support decision making with regards to IP and patent strategies. He is also a Partner at ROL Group, where he counsels clients on a variety of patent and business matters, including licensing, buying, selling, valuation, prosecution and business processes. He has patent portfolio licensing and marketing experience resulting in millions worth of patent license bookings.
Prior to founding the Richardson Oliver Insights and ROL Group, Mr. Oliver was a Vice President at ThinkFire Services USA, Ltd’s Silicon Valley office. He has held various senior positions with a range of responsibilities at Rambus Inc., Synopsys, Inc., and a number of Silicon Valley startups. He was also previously an associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati.
Mr. Oliver has over 40 published articles and lectures on patent strategy, intellectual property, and related business issues at Stanford, Santa Clara, and the Center for Intellectual Property at Chalmers.
Mr. Oliver is a member of the California and District of Columbia Bar and a United States Patent and Trademark Office registered patent attorney.
Mr. Oliver has a B.S. in Computer Science/Mathematics from Haverford College, an M.S.E. in Computer Information Science from University of Pennsylvania, and a JD from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Costa acts as the Director of Analytics for Richardson Oliver Insight. His background in engineering and consulting allow him to bring a blend of business knowledge and technological understanding to our customers. Mr. Costa also works as an intellectual asset analyst at ROL Group.
Prior to joining Richardson Oliver Insights and the ROL Group, Mr. Costa worked as an independent financial and strategy consultant for Silicon Valley startups. He has helped companies analyze their business and technology opportunities in crowdfunding, mobile advertising, home automation, green systems and power management, InGaAs semiconductors, and digital signal processing.
Mr. Costa holds a BSE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and a BA in Political Science with a math minor from the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Arts and Sciences.

Mrs. Keil acts as the Administrative Services Manager for Richardson Oliver Insights and the ROL Group. She has many years of administrative experience in technology-intensive startups.

Ms. Cecilia Ågren acts as the Manager Broker Relations and Data at Richardson Oliver Insights, where her main responsibility lies in managing relationships with our brokers, data suppliers, and related databases. She supports the Director of Analytics and the VP of Customer Solutions with business and data analysis.
Before working at Richardson Oliver Insights, Ms. Ågren has been a Visiting Researcher at PARC, a Xerox Company, analyzing, researching and pursuing business development projects. She took an early part in launching the Swedish top startup Karma (Karmalicous AB), a company focused on reducing food waste, while increasing food industry profits. Cecilia has been involved in a collaboration between Rice University (Houston, Texas) and NASA, an idea evaluation project where she developed prototypes that were tested in the HSB Living Lab (Gothenburg, Sweden).
Ms. Ågren has studied at Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden) where she has a BSc in Industrial Engineering and Management with a mechanics specialization and a master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Design, with a major in Corporate Entrepreneurship.
